Your personal training journey at Gymteq starts with an initial consultation with your coach. This session will begin with a discussion of your training goals, exercise history, injury history, relevant medical conditions and planned training frequency. From there, your coach will run through some simple movement screening assessments that are designed to identify any imbalances, mobility restrictions or movement compensations that you may have. The information gathered from these movement tests will then be used by the coach when creating your individualised training programme.
Next, the coach will take you through some specific tests that relate to your individual training goals. These tests will then be repeated at regular intervals to measure your progress towards your training goal.
The exact tests used will depend on your specific training goals. For example, if your goals were related to sports performance then a series of jump and sprint tests could be used, whereas if the goal was rehabilitating a knee injury, then the tests used would measure leg strength and thigh circumference and compare results to the uninjured leg.
